Just paid £41.00 inc postage for the Mira Eco head.0

The price is straight forward for ecocamel £26.99 including VAT and normal postage. Mine arrived in a jiffy bag after 2 days.
If i recall it had a postage franked by some water company down south, not sure if it was linked.
I'm happy with mine. There is a mira eco head on ebay but be sure it's not a logic with eco settingLets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0 -
The eBay Mira Eco has been bid up to almost mail order price with a few hours to go.0

If your in the mood for saving water with little expense,
I fitted spraymagic inserts to bathroom and WC taps, they convert the normal water into a spray and it uses half the water. For the kitchen sink I fitted a Tapmagic insert. When you turn the tap on normally it sprays from around the outside, ideal for washing hands etc but when you turn the tap more the centre opens (uses the same thingy as found in showergel and tomato sauce bottles to stop drips). This allows normal fill rates.
Don't fit to baths as there is no point apart from helping to make the bubble bath mix better.
Both can be found on www.tapmagic.co.uk also on the M&S website but double the price.Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0 -
Thanks Andy...I have seen reference to these elsewhere.....may try them out. Nice to know that they really work.0

Can these shower heads be used on low pressure systems? I have bath mixer taps, but am running from a hot water tank, so pressure is quite low unfortunatly. Not even sure how to check what the pressure is even.
I've been looking at these tap inserts. Are they easy to fit, and do they fit conventional, run of the mill taps?0 -
I guess it really depends on the flow rate through your shower as to whether or not they are cost effective......see the table on Page 5 of following document http://www.mirashowers.com/onlinecatalog/pdf/1083135_w2_a.pdf
You need to measure your flow rate....take a bucket and spray your shower into it for 10 seconds....measure the amout of water in the bucket and multiply by 6 to get litres per min. and then relate to the table. Alternativly, spray into the bucket for 1 min and measure water (not very water saving though)0 -

If your hot water only setting can pump out more than 9 litres per minute then it probably will work fine.
The tap inserts were a mixed bag. My bathroom and WC taps were the cheapest Barratt could fit. A universal spraymagic was easy to fit by putting a screw into the original plastic insert and pulling it out. It then just screwed into place and that was it done.
The kitchen tapmagic was a bit of a pain but it was 100% my fault. When I removed the original insert (just screwed out) I found it was a special one with the hot coming in the middle and cold on the outside. Once I pulled the tap inards out it just screwed into place.
The bath was a bit more of a pain, it was the universal tapmagic. Every time I screwed it into place it pushed it'self out. After it did it a few time I got sick and added a bit of silicon bath sealer to the o-ring. Fine after that. After a couple of days I noticed that the bath ones were a waste of money, you either want it on or off.
If I was in the same position again I would fit them with no questions. it's amazing how much water it takes to wash your hands and the taps have a much more expensive feel, people have commented that they like them.Lets get this straight. I have now obtained a Mira Eco shower head and have used it for the 1st time.
It is definalty not as powerful as my old shower head. The water supply seems somewhat feeble in comparison and a little dissapointing. It also makes more noise (I was aware of this befor I bought it). From a purely selfish point of view, I must say that I think I prefer my old shower head although the Mira Eco does give a perfectly acceptable shower and certainly uses much less water....we will stick with it for a while and see if we get used to it. The Mira Eco must be saving costs in both water itself and heating of water....by my calculations, it should pay for itself in about 6-9 months if we stick with it.0 -
I thought it would be a big bump for you moving down from 30 litres per minute to 7. The pressure will be the same so the spray will get as far but seeing as you are only using 20-25% of the water it will not feel like you have enough water to dround yourself.
I moved down from 10 litres to 7 so it was not a crash landing for me.Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0
