I have just looked on the deals section of lasvegastalk.com and there are deals available from now thru to sep for the

Bellagio and the venetian ( like others have said the monte carlo isnt in the same league and nor is the luxor)

You can get a Lakeview room at the Bellagio for £149 weekdays (sun thru thur) and i think it was $299 for fri and sat.

You would love a lakeview room

i stayed at the Ney York, New York and the Venitian, only stayed at the New York one cause i love new york really, but was fine no problems, about $80 a night so cheap, but near the end of the strip, we had a car so it didnt matter, Venitian very nice, rooms are on split levels, you feel like royalty!!! we got the room for $150 so still pretty cheap, i know people who stayed at ceazars palace (not sure of the spelling) and thought it was rubbish, dirty, noisy and their room looked onto a car park!! I would stay at the bellagio, looks very nice!! and good location. Another tip we booked a plane trip over the grand canyon through scenic airlines, phoned up the day before to see if there was seats, they told us to call back the morning of the flight and we went on stand-by, the flight cost us $25 each should have been $350, although i was so sick that i couldnt fly back and had to pay another $50 for a trip on a bus of japanese tourists! what an experience

Just got back from Vegas this morning. Stayed in the Bellagio for the first time. Excellent hotel but imho the room was not as good as the standard Venetian room (a split level suite). Not much between them in terms of luxury apart from Bellagio is typically more expensive! Spent a lot of time in the Wynn and it really seems nice. THE Hotel is great but its locarion is crap. Best value rooms for us are in TI using one of their packages.

We've now stayed in approx 10 Vegas hotels and Venetain/Bellagio are by far and away the most luxurious, TI and the suite they gave us last Sunday, the best value!

SO you would recommend the Venetian then? I quite fancied staying there as I have been to Venice and loved the place.

By the way what is TI?

    Thanks

TI is what Treasure Island call themselves nowadays. (Part of the MGM/ Bellagio / Mirage group of hotels). For Venetian either check out special offers via fat wallet dot com website (do a google search on "promo codes Las Vegas") or just use their website. Last week before we left they were doing promos - upgrade to Venezia tower, special prices etc etc.

As someone else also said Bellagio are doing a $149/$159 offer via a promo code - (their mailing list basically). We didn't get a lakeside view though :-( ...but as it was Memorial Day weekend it was kind of busy. Caesars Palace wanted over $800 for a room last Saturday night!

TI petitite suites and larger suites have dual bathrooms including jacuzzi/whirlpool. Their packages also include slot credit which is really like a straight discount if you know what you are doing on the machines! $50 for the petite suite package. Excellent value. Stayed their 4 times now and never a problem. definatelty not as luxurious as the aforementioned hotels though.

Just had a quick look at venetian. $169 summer suite special on their front page.
fatwallet has a code stating $129 for weekday rooms, $199 for weekends.

As always the hard thing is to get a full week at one hotel at a good price. On this visit we ended up at Bellagio, TI and a couple of days at THe Orleans (nice rooms, good for kids - bowling, good arcades, cinema all onsite - pool doesn't get sun until late morning, need to use shuttle to get to strip - and the one thing that was an eye opener - the line of 100+ hispanics standing
inline on the Friday waiting to cash their pay check. -apart from that , nice cheap option for a 1-2 day stop avoiding the silly prices on the strip for the holiday weekend). Next week you should be fine for 3-4 days at the $169 rate at the Venetian, the other days will be a lot more!

I too have stayed at the Venetian, it's fab!

Far better than Bellagio as all of the rooms are suites whereas I think the bellagio aren't.

Plus the bathrooms are great, flat screen tv's so you can watch telly while relaxing in the bath. heaven!

Don't forget that The Venetian is the only 5* hotel that Priceline use on the strip.
That could mean a serious saving over the normal rate advertised.
If you've not used Priceline before, read up on it first.

Hi, myself and hubby are going to Vegas too for our belated honeymoon. Here are some tips I've picked up from other forums. Book flight and hotel seperate, you should get a much cheaper deal. Sign up on email lists on preferred hotels and they will send you offers via email (obviously). You can book your rooms online with your preferred hotel and then watch out for special rates. If you get a better rate then cancel 48 to 24 hours before start date of booking and rebook at better rate. I know you said that money isn't a big deal but sometimes the hotels through in loads of extra goodies on a deal. You can also ring them for best rates as well.
Helicopter tours to the Grand Canyon, obviously have had no experience myself but 'Papillon' appears to be highly rated and cheaper than many others.
American Casino Guide, please google for author, thinks its Bourie, has tons of vouchers for 2 for 1 meals and cocktails, drinks, allsorts. Apparently highly recommended to get this. Please don't be cautious i.e. British about vouchers the Americans use them all the time, from my perspective it's fun and saving you more money to spend on whatever you like. You can get Limo hire to pick you up from the airport, again discount vouchers available, as stated earlier Vegastalk, and cheapovegas are excallent sites with loads of tips on.
Car hire, again why pay over the odds, Dollar car hire consistantly come up on Vegas forums as being very reasonable.
    Resturant.com has a great scheme where you buy vouchers at say $25 for a 60% discount on a meal for two. This will amount to a great saving as they have some very upmarket resturants on the website. Also the dollar to pound exchange is really good at mo, predicted to fall more so get your dollars in now. If wanting to make cash withdrawels without charges, (be careful some ATM's around the casino's have hidden charges for using them),then the Nationwide card is for you... apparently. I'll shut up now but have a great time in Vegas and if you hit THE JACKPOT, remember all your friends at MSE :O}
