Hi do any of you own or have any comments about the new Hotpoint Quadrio FF4DX fridge freezer?
Its the stainless steel one with 2 drawers at the bottom for the freezer, and two doors at the top for the fridge.
Cheapest price I can find is £565 from Appliancesonline.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

DON'T BUY ONE! In fact don't buy anything by Hotpoint, or by its parent company Indesit.
We have had one of these fridge freezers for 13 months and it has broken due to a design flaw with the cable going into the right-hand door. Hotpoint do not accept any responsibility and I am having to pay £164 to get it repaired. More information on the issue can be found on the unbeatable.co.uk website under the review for the FF4DX.
A quick search on Google will show how likely it is you will be speaking to their Customer Services if you buy any Hotpoint product, and then just how poorly you will be treated by them when you do. You have been warned! We've had 4 Hotpoint appliances in the past and they have been fine, however the quality of the products has notoriously nosedived since they were taken over by Indesit.0 -
I considered one of these over christmas, but for the size of the unit the freezer is shockingly small.
It's a triumph of design over practicality. In the end we went with a Smasung American Style without the ice maker malarky on it for less than £100 more.0 -
Our Hotpoint Quadrio has not worked since purchase. Seems to think that the fridge section is a freezer - minus ten degrees celsius. Called Hotpoint, but as purchased from Comet the repairs are via Comet.
To cut a very long story short, six visits in over five weeks. Parts replaced and still not working. Fifth engineer left the fridge with an alarm going off ('it'll stop in 20 minutes'.........) so now have to turn off the fridge section. Still have to wait for 'gas engineer' to write it off and for me to get a refund.
Will never buy a Hotpoint fridge ever again and Comet's 'service' leaves much to be desired.
Rant over!! :silenced:0 -

A lovely design but I think the clue that Hotpoint shouldn't make a fridge is in their name!!
Fridge is just two years old, has had two new doors (because of the frayed wire issue) and now stopped cooling. They've just replaced the compressor and re-gassed it but it still isn't working. I suspect it's leaking gas from somewhere else.
Hotpoint have been good in responding to service calls (I bought a 5 year extended warranty - phew!) but I guess they're well practised and I bet I won't get new-for-old if they decide to replace it.
Samsung next, I think.0 -
If you want a good quality fridge freezer I would look at Miele (or Liebherr who make fridges for Miele). You may have to pay a bit more but you will have better quality and longevity -I paid £500 for my stainless steel Miele f/f from Dixons a couple of years ago so worth shopping around.0

Yup, exactly the same - it took 13 months for ours to break down. On no account should you accept this. Ask yourself this question -would any reasonable person expect a £500+ fridge freezer to last 13 months? There's only one honest answer. If you do decide to buy it protect the wires. Don't accept a repair. Do you really know everything that went wrong when the wiring blew?
It's faulty goods. It's a design flaw not a giant cosmic coincidence.
White goods are expected to last 5-10 years now and up to 20 years if they're really good. Within a six-year period you should expect a refund. Don't throw away the receipt until that time's up!There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Our Hotpoint FF4DX fridge/freezer seems like it might have broken too. The light has stopped working and I hoped that it was just the bulb, but the door alarm doesn't go off anymore. I will find out if it's broken soon enough though.
I know white goods are expected to last more than a year, but without a warranty you can't do anything about it, can you? We have had ours just over a year.0 -
Don't concern yourself about the warranty. Do focus on a company that manufactured a product that can barely last past one year. That's a travesty!
You may get quicker joy if you complain straight to the manufacturer instead of the retailer- we did!
Make it clear to them you know this is happening all too often and there's something basically wrong with the product. You might accept a replacement (then think about protecting the wire) but never accept a repair. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
We were going to get one, but we found the freezer to be tiny too. Ended up going for an LG american style with the water and ice in the door. Still looks stunning an works fantastically 3 years later. It wasn't that much more than comet were asking for the hotpoint one"Live each day as if it were your last and garden as though you will live forever"
