Freeview Signal Quality Issue

I'd be grateful if anyone can advise me with this problem.

As I understand it, Freeview broadcasts on 6 multiplexes (Mux's).

On Mux's 2, A, B, & C I get a signal strength of between 85-95% and a signal quality of >95% and have no problem watching channels that broadcast on these multiplexes.

However on Mux's 1 & D (Ch 63 & 64), the signal strength is still between 85-95% but the signal quality fluctuates between 40-90% causing regular picture breakup. Slightly annoying as Mux 1 contains the BBC channels that I watch most frequently.

Has anyone any ideas how I can resolve this? I've tried signal boosters to no avail.

Equipment is a Humax 9200 and local transmitter is Tacolneston if that info helps.

It would appear that your only options are an aerial adjustment and / or a larger aerial.

Unfortunately it would appear you are in a known troublesome reception area -

On the brightside, it looks as though you're due a power increase when switchover is completed in your area in 2011.

Del1001 - thanks for the link. It appears that Mux 1 is currently on maximum power. Could the signal be too strong?

Yes it is on maximum power, but it would appear that it's still not strong enough, I notice that both mux 1 & D are being moved in 2011 and with a significant power increase, that should solve the problem, in the meantime you could try a stronger aerial if you're really bothered about it.

It's unlikely that the signal is too strong, none of your readings are 100%, which means they are not maxing out.
