So the fact that their credit search came back saying "get lost" - does not in its self have an impact - it's just doing 4 searches in 5 mins?
It may be a possibility IMO.

So why would they turn it down? - as Andystriker own my house; no debts, pay my mastercard off every month; loads of savings accounts; 7 vantage accounts and have never been turned down for any account or card that I applied for . Only this one that I didn'tYorkshireBoy wrote: »I think the OP may be worrying unnecessarily about their credit file.
When I opened my HICA a couple of years ago I was given a credit card (that I did ask for) on the back of just one credit search for the current account. My understanding is that they still operate like this.
If the OP checks their credit file I think they'll find that just the one credit search is listed, and it'll be tagged "search type: current account application".
I agree the [STRIKE]sales assistant's[/STRIKE] banking advisor's actions may be worth bringing to the attention of the company though.

None of which, in terms of credit balance, is shown on your credit file.loads of savings accounts; 7 vantage accounts
That said, they may be uncomfortable with the number of current accounts you hold, especially if they all have overdraft facilities (I assume they haven't though, being as you're simply using them as savings accounts).
Is your existing credit card reported to the CRAs?
If you're unhappy, appeal the decision and provide evidence of your financial circumstances.0
