Hi guys
I'm hoping that someone will be able to give me a few pointers:o
I bought an Echostar T101 from Woolies in February & it has been nothing but stress since as tt dies on me regularly and and now its latest thing is to go off.
There's a light on the unit, so I thought it was a dodgy battery in the remote, but even with 4 changes of batteries, it's no go and not even unplugging and replugging (which normally works) can restart it.
I packed it all up to return it and can't find the receipt
and not sure if they will take it back.
sooo
Do any of you have ideas about what's wrong with the blasted thing?

have a look in the manual for it.. there should be a way to set it back to factory settings... try that and see if it does any good...
also try and see via the menu system if there are any software updates available, if so try downloading these.. they will download over the air so once clicked it should be auto matic0 -
Some Freeview boxes are seriously awful. We had a Goodmans one for a few years and its performance got worse and worse until I had to bin it - it switched itself off approximately every minute. (And I'm not exaggerating).0

Thanks for the advice :T
Unfortunately, I can't do anything with it as the remote & machine are having a tiff & not communicating with each other:( so I can't do anything and there are no external buttons on the unit to press.
Would be unimpressed if I had to bin it as I bought it with 9 months worth of saved loose change as a treat."This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0 -

Email the company about your experience and problems. They may offer help, or even to repair/replace your broken box.

I've got 2 Matsui (cheap and nasty) boxes from Currys/Dixons and they work quite well. I've also got an expensive Samsung which is a load of c**p !
I dont think price is the major factor in determining how well these things work, a lot depends on your signal strength and where you live. Have a chat with your neighbours to see what works in your area. If you've got a REALLY friendly local TV dealer, he may be willing to sell you one "sale-or-return".0 -
humax all the way, i had a cheap no make one from currys, £25 but there were issues with the power, this caused the box to crash and it needed unplugging and turning back on again.
i got rid of freeview last week though as it was cheaper for me to get telewest digital installed, drop my 10mg internet for 4mb. i pay £16 to £18 per month less with better picture quality and more channels for the bedroom. now on a £35 per month package, i used to pay that just for internet.what is the plural of moose?
