  • I have made the christmas cake, though that is for us, as is the sloe gin. But for presents I have lots of jam and chutney, mostly made from the free damsons but some strawberry and some raspberry for presents.

I am preparing for an OS Christmas by NOT buying up special offer sweets.

It's Saturday night, I've had a really hard week, it sounds like there's a gale outside and it's fortunate there isn't a £5 tin of Roses in the house. ;)

Gosh, you clever people. Last year I made one christmas cake as a pressant which was well recieved and everyone else got Thorntons chocolates. Large double trayed for the couples and all children had the christmas carrier with all sorts of festive chocolate in. One little girl threw it on the floor in dissapointment of not getting a large toy etc...
I dread to think what they would do with my home made offerings. Folk just expect to much money to be spent that we cannot give.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.

Would be well received here :D

If thats the way they feel, then I would just give them a (nice) card. I am going to do some HM bits which I expect to be appreciated. If you can't afford to buy then they can like it or lump it.
