LED light bulbs getting better

In what way in this accurate? Have you considered the mercury aspect of CFC's and all the other negative aspects of them?Buy one of the most expensive LED's, at £70 ish and over it's lifetime i will save you significant money on your bills, energy, the environment and a lot of time over any CFC.
I cannot see one reason why you would want to stick with CFC's to save money? You'll only lose money with CFC's?

I just got my 1st led floodlight today, its a evo56 its just to use on front driveway its quite small driveway. Early results not brilliant but granted its limited by how much residue batter power it had in it when I put it up and around 3 hours charge on a dull day. Its mounted above a garage on some pvc cladding that goes around the garage, its South facing

I will be using 4 in a bathroom so £100 is a bit of a big outlay ..But had some fortune at a casino last week so it is nice that they will be doing something for the planet and my long term bills0 -

In case you get pulled up for spamming your site, which technically you are, I would like to ask that your post isnt removed, and I will in fact post a link to what appears to be the only 7W LED 50W GU10 equivalent bulb I have found online. http://www.lightplanet.co.uk/led-spot-lights/gu10-spotlights/v2-high-power/7-watt-gu10-led-spotlight-v2-4-p-1121.html
FYI the CREE I bought above turned out to be only 35W equivalent, despite the seller saying "weve tested them and the look similar to 50W".....the box clearly stated 35W equivalent.
Now, LightPlanet - how about posting a discount code on the discount form for all us MSEs to take advantage of......I certainly would. If you want to PM it to me, I will post for you....again to stop any suggestion of spamming. Alternatively if you contact the board management I would certainly contend that its a worthy site to promote here....a range of LED planet saving bulbs.....if only the cost wasnt so high I would replace every halogen in the house.....even with say 20% discount, I would probably only replace the bulbs on a lot eg kitchen, maybe bathrooms.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
It's a bit of a fine line with the spamming thing, so I hope that I didn't cross it. Thanks for your support. I'm a newbie on this site, so will tread a little more carefully. I will arrange a discount code and, if you don't mind, I'll ask you to post it.0

You need to edit that 1st post because you are not allowed to advertise
asking people to goggle xxxxxxxx is just another way to get round the rules. Duly reported your 1st post
Can I suggest you read the rules http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=3056550 -

Happy to post it.....just PM me. There was a problem with spamming on this thread or the other LED thread a week or two ago (which is probably why the other poster didnt like your post), but I believe that was different......it was a type of CFL bulb available everywhere.....this I believe is new or fairly unique on the market.....Ive certainly never come across true 50W equivalent LED GU10s.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
If that discount code could be PM'd to me I will buy these instead of the ones I posted that are on Amazon ...
They look good ....The liquid filled lights look a bit scary0 -
I purchased 4 LED spotlights from B&Q, £8.95 a pair..
Supposed to last for 30,000 hours....
Had to replace one with halogen, to get sufficient light above the sink.
Then one failed after about 4 months, like less than 100 hours..
I took it back. They refused to give me a refund. Then the manager refused to give me a refund, suggesting I should contact the manufacturer. Except they couldn't provide me with the customer service contacts at the manufacturer. After I finished ranting for about 10 minutes, they eventually replaced it free of charge.
Please remember these LEDs are supposed to last for UP TO 30,000 hours. Which means they last for DOWN TO zero & any increase in life is not guaranteed.
If you must buy them don't take prisoners when trying to get a refund.
Also, please remember the electricity "WASTED" from a normal light bulb is in fact given off as heat. Which isn't waste for the 8 months or so of winter we have in the UK, as the heat given off replaces that you need from your heating system. Therefore, energy saving figures from light bulbs are over stated.:D0
