Hello,
Im stupid because i have made no pland for a job this summer and now i am in the prediciment of having no job and doing nothing. There are really no jobs in my home-town where i have moved back to and i want to go a way somewhere and work this summer but i dont know what options or ideas are open to me. Last year i was a camp counselor in the US but i am too late this year. I also have very little money aswell to start-off with if i find somwhere to go work, which might affect a few options. Iv thought about moving back up to where i went to uni(already gie up flat), but there will be the start up costs and the rent and i probs wont make much over the summer so i may aswell go somewhere different but where. What fun affordable places can i work this summer and soon...im going out my mind at home.
I need your help.
Thanks.

Have you tried going around with loads of copies of your cv to every hotel, shop and office in your home town? Thats what I normally do and always get something(usually when I am about ot give up!!)
If not try here: http://www.gumtree.com/ - Select your region and look through the jobs. I have seen live-in hotel and fruit picking jobs advertising there, might be worth a shot? I don't really know what kinda thing you arfe looking for but they might be fun.0 -
do you have any theme parks near you? IKEA? motorway services? asda? tesco (but they do a character screening questionnaire & if you don't fit, they won't interview you)? Waterstones? Borders? Most of these places will employ students2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Gee we are having the same problem here in London My younger DD went all around Bromley at the weekend, and the older tried all the 18+ like Virgin and the off-license too- Nothing for my DD.
Somebody suggested to us trying the Exam Boards, as they take on students to mark, but not near us! Search on Exam boards....
Also we found this:- http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/student-jobs-search.htm yesterday, but nothing suitable for my DD who is describing herself as an unmotivated slug LOL!

pbright, whereabouts are you?
Here's the link to my uni employment website with all the summer jobs on - hope there's something there for u!

Search jobs on https://www.sts.se - they are a Swedish based language school with summer schools at various places within the UK. The site is in Swedish but links to an English work section.
The jobs they offer are fun but the staff are overworked, underpaid and know very little about recruitment (they are employed to find cheap host families for the students to stay with) They tend to be completely desperate at this time of year for positions starting late June and July. They will do telephone interviews, rarely take up references and so long as you are able to work the contract (2, 3 or 4 weeks at a time) you'll get a job.
Like a lot of companies in this field, money is their prime concern but the foreign students are usually nice and you'll be working with fellow students also thrown in the deep end. Morally the business tends to suck but they've been going for 40 years so must be doing something right.0 -
Go to hotrecruit.com or reed.co.uk, fish4jobs.... If you're prepared to work you'll find something, be it a cleaning job, in a rest home, bar, office...You might have to get a long-ish bus/train maybe up to an hour each way- welcome to the working world!0
