Why would you do that? That's a pretty dumb thing to do isn't it?calleyw wrote:So I send my card through the post with a letter and write my address at the top of my letter.
The criminal would be unable to use the card because they have no PIN and they don't know the cardholders address...because the cardholder is not stupid enough to include their name and address! :rotfl:And someone steals it. Oh that is right they can now use my card as it has three digit code on the back. And send to any where in the world. And how do I tell my bank that my card was not stolen from my purse but I sent it via the post to my mate. So they could pretend to be me. Don't think the bank are going to be to impressed do you.
fine I'm happy for you.I am sorry but even my husband does not know my pin number. So there is no way I am going to hand it out willy nilly to friends.
Fine, I'm happy for you.I find your solution beyond belief. And on very dodgy ground.
You are right here, you would be trusting your friend, that's something *I* would not have an issue with. And by handing out your pin number you are very sticky ground with your bank. As that is one thing they don't like at all. And you might find that you are not covered if your bank account is ripped off.
but I'm happy for you if you don't have friends you can trust like that
Indeed, and I suggested another solution, request the friend sends the card. So happy we cleared that up.The OP has been offered a solution which is an exchange. Or they could contact their friend and explain and then return the goods to the friend. To deal with.0 -
ive been asked this in a few shopes like homebase for the card that was used and I just hand over any and they put it through as why would they check the numbers match ?Nice to save.0

I'm not sure that's strictly true. Many companies have their returns policy prominently displayed and printed on the back of the receipt. Under those circumstances, I suspect they form part of the contract and would be legally enforceable. Unfortunately, bylromarha is not the customer in this case and has no rights at all.Astaroth wrote:Legally, you only have the right to return an item which is faulty or not fit for purpose.
Could you not post the item to your friend, get them to get a refund on their Switch card at their local Monsoon then post you gift vouchers back? There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

Just out of curiosity I would like to know what would happen if I bought something on my credit card and within a week or so I then cancelled that cc. (Yes, I am a cc tart and proud of it
) what would the shop do then? I no longer have the card that I made the purchase with.
I have often wondered about this when I have had to return faulty goods a few months or so after I had bought them.
Any ideas ?0 -
Went and swapped the 2nd item last week in a different store.
Was given gift vouchers without a problem

Well they might be able to refund it anyway, and then your ex card provider might send you a cheque, if you phoned up and told them to. But I'd check that with your card provider before you think of doing that.
Otherwise they might offer gift vouchers. (in this case the sales person @ monsoon was an idiot.) and if they are really pushed they will just give a cash refund, which is within their power, they just like to be able to do a chargeback when ever possible because it's more profitable for them.
Good to hear you sorted it out Bylromarha _ what on Earth is that username about?0 -
