It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • I'd love to do that Spudly!

Right, time for me to do something productive today-was thinking of playing on DH Nintendo thingy? (and that is not rude!)

You'll need a car from Shaftsbury to anywhere national trust etc

Ah yes, forgot to say I'd be going by car.
    here are the nearest places

    http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-vh/w-visits/w-beta-map.htm

Athelhampton is quite nice to visit although quite small but I don't know if you can get a discount - it isn't NT.

I'll have a look, but it's only open on Sundays beyond the end of October - so it'll depend on how the Sunday is going.
If you have your car with you, places like Chesil Beach are lovely. Monkey World is fun and if you're into tanks () there is Bovington Tank Museum very close to Monkey World.

I'm visiting that part of the world just for the Tank Museum, though visiting other places to make up the holiday ITSWIM.
There are small stately homes at Kingston Lacy

Looks like that house closes on 1st Nov.
and there are some lovely walks around Kingston Maurward house. Corfe Castle is a really good place to go for the day

    That's looking good.
and if you don't mind a short boat ride, pop over to Brownsea Island (I think it will still be open and that is NT).

Looks like that closes on 1st Nov too. Never mind - hopefully next year I will be able to take holidays when I want to, and not have this problem.

    Thanks for your help.

The tank museum is very close to me (infact same road as me)

I'll wave as I go by. As you're going green with red food-colouring... ;)

  • What about some of the NT gardens Z? They are open a lot of the time.

I shall have a look at them - just most of them look poor this time of year.

No colour, and no snow to make them look pretty...

    Well,
if I am honest, when I grow up, I really want to be a police man.

That would require a bit of building up in certain areas... ;)
