I used to work for the BBC, and my hours ranged from 6.30am to 11.45pm in a changing shift pattern - so we got taxis at either end of the scale. Remember that a lot of production jobs, especially in news, are not 9-5 and taxis are provided to stop people going home alone very late at night or very early in the morning, which can be dangerous or difficult. It's a shame not all similar workplaces can;t do the same, as it shows a level of care to staff. Never got a chauffer-driven car, though
To recap; http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/5853046/BBC-executives-received-1000-in-licence-fee-payers-money-to-cut-taxes-on-pensions.html
I hardly think this is fair on licence fee payers.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Lets face it the BBC doesn't have that great choice. You can't watch what you ant when you ant to.
Take Virgin Media. I can watch nearly anything i want from hit shows to things like the National Geographic, History etc etc when i want to.
The BBC produce Eastenders and the other crap you get in the morning and buy the rights to the F1 Grand Prix. What a waste.
Don't see why i should pay the BBC to watch National Geographic etc etc0 -

Yeah but it's not the BBC who are broadcasting it.0 -
Only if there is no possible way for your TV to receive a picture; either digital or terrestrial. If the digital doesn't work, the terrestrial might. Also means it needs to be tested to see if you can't get it,
Where did you come up with that from, who goes around testing sets to make sure they cannot receive any transmissions.
You can have as many working sets as you want and it does not matter whether they are capable of receiving transmissions or not, providing you don't use them to watch or record live transmissions you do not have to do anything to make them incapable of receiving any signal and you do not need a licence.0 -

National Geographic etc run adverts? That money contributes to the broadcast of the channel. So why should I as a consumer pay for you to watch National Geographic etc?
TV funded by adverts is the ultimate stealth tax, paid by every consumer irrespective of whether they have a TV or not."One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. Everybody is in a hurry now and there is a 'the rules don't apply to me' sort of thing." - Bill Bryson0 -
