I’m not sure what BBC1 you’re watching, there schedule is terrible, and I can honestly say I don’t watch it at all, none series doc/soap etc don’t appeal to me in the slightest.
I still feel it’s a FORCED subscription,
In the level off fairness it should be an option.
And if the BBC feels people might view without a licence, then it’s up to
Those to encrypt there service not Force it on the masses because they can.
Add to that, they apply intimidation threats of door step visits, court action, fines, jail term, For One Crappy channel.. Has to be very wrong
If you think the licence fee pays merely for BBC1 then you need to do some research0 -
For One Crappy channel.. Has to be very wrong
Oh, do the BBC not run BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, BBC News 24, and all of the BBC radio channels as well? Not to mention all the regional BBC regional variants for news, sport etc etc.If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

So you never ever watch BBC, any sport, such things as football, snooker, golf etc, news or listen to the radio.
If you think BBC is one crappy channel then I dread to think what you must watch as the other 399 channels you claim to watch have more crap than any of the BBC channels put together.:rolleyes:0 -
"If the BBC is to emain as nakedly commercial and market-distorting as it is currently, the logical consequence is that it must "seek its fortune" and no longer be (wholly) funded by what already is and will progressively be seen by an increasing number of viewers as a tax. One corollary of such mixed funding would be the necessity for the BBCs main terrestrial channels to carry advertising airtime as to render some commercial broadcasters unviable." bbc charter review eveidence

:rotfl: There are nine BBC television television channels and ten BBC radio stations and you can't find a single thing to watch or listen to?! Perhaps that says more about you than the BBC ... The rights to BBC television programmes are sold all over the world as the quality and breadth of programming is unparalleled.

You aren't forced to watch live television. You could watch BBC iPlayer/ 4OnDemand, read a book or a newspaper, study to advance your career, do voluntary work, learn to crochet, talk to your family, join your local football team ....
BBC don't intimidate anyone on their doorstep, the licensing authorities are a separate entity. I've just cancelled my TV license by telephone with no fuss and received a £70 refund within days. Are you sure people have been imprisoned for not paying their TV license?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

From another thread you posted:-We are a family of 5........................ husband wife and 3 kids.
You are trying to tell everyone that none of you watch much television either the BBC or listen to the radio, with 3 kids, pull the other one.:rolleyes:0 -
Perhaps the Beeb should take a leaf out of Japan's licence-funded equivalent. A few years ago, 30% of Japanese watched tv without a licence, fining them seemed to have little or no effect, so they decriminalised failure to posess a TV licence.
They then introdeuced a 'pay if you want to' system which involved a man knocking on doors to collect the licence fee (if the residents wanted to pay) every month. As a result, 97% of people now pay for a TV licence.
BTW, just for info., the reason you need to supply an address when buying TV reception equipement such as settop boxes and tellys is that there is no currant technology capable of detecting moden digital equipment such as TFT TVs and Freeview/Sky boxes.
I know this is true, as my b-i-l works with a former detector van driver.Never Knowingly Understood.

It did "BBC CHarter Review outwith the quotes
To clarify taken from Parliament: House of Lords: Select Committee on the BBC Charter Review.
Also an interesting section on human rights with regards the licence.0
