    you really need to UPDATE MBAM, the corrent definitions are 3000+ !!!!

    At the end of the clean up, OP needs to update to SP3, currently running SP2 only.

    Microsoft update the actual operating system with them to help with security issues and the general running of the computer

    SP2 only installed makes me think the OP has not installed any Windows Updates since July '08 or earlier, which won't exactly help with security. When your system is clean, reset in Control Panel to receive and install them automatically.

    I have now removed this virus from my computer...thank you to all those who helped me!!!!
    one more question...i have a new icon in my taskbar,a pic of a doctor(p c tools spyware doctor) is this safe

    it's safe, but detections have been left behind a bit....although it's real-time detections are better than windows defender's :)
