    I never fill my washer with petrol or aviation fuel, and materials in upholstery etc. are normally fire resistant if possible. Surely the plastic in the outer drum could be non flammable?

  • I had my washer/dryer repaired a few weeks ago. The repairman said he would never leave a washer/dishwasher/tumble dryer on at night, or if no one was in.

    He also said if you had a fire caused by the above appliances and the house was unoccupied you would not be covered by house insurance and would lose everything.
