The hotel from hell

Let's get this straight.
Of couse.. go aheadYou've gone to France and booked a hotel via lastminute.com and aren't satisfied with the hotel so you are thinking of leaving and cancelling the card or falsely reporting it stolen to get out paying the other nights you booked in advance?!
Nope you've got it completely wrongincesticde you need to speak to the hotel and tell them you are unhappy with the noise level in your room. Then look at your booking terms and conditions and see if cancellation for the remaining two nights is permitted. If it's not then you are stuck with paying for it (for example, if it's part of a three night minimum stay).
If I was after advice on how to complain about a hotel room why would I post on credit card forum?????
anyhow, thanks to the few posters who didn't read what I said as intent to commit a criminal act. I Complained to the hotel and got moved to a nicer (and damn site quieter!!!) room for the rest of the stay, after i told them the room was too noisy they guessed the room number so people have obviously complained about this before... poor show really"I don't want to sound cold and un-caring, but I am those things so that's the way it comes out" - Bill Hicks0 -
Oh and cancelling the card will make no difference, merchant will be allowed to bill your account regardless of closing it and they will transfer the debit onto your new card number... sorry
cheers for the information , Just what I was after
P.S it only took 9 posts to answer my question (all those high horses appear to have got in the way) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:"I don't want to sound cold and un-caring, but I am those things so that's the way it comes out" - Bill Hicks0 -

Why did you post in a Credit Card forum?
People told you to sort it out amicably, they were right were right.........once you tried, it could be sorted.incesticde wrote: ».........poor show really

Hotel's poor show, and read the OP to find out why I posted on a credit card forum"I don't want to sound cold and un-caring, but I am those things so that's the way it comes out" - Bill Hicks0 -
Actually, you're covered under DSR(2000) as you booked online so just pay as normal, speak to the hotel and voice your concerns then report the problem and claim from crappyminute when you get home ;-)
Don't listen to the foolish comments, they are quite unfounded!

Me thinks, the 'poor show' was on your part: making a drama out of nothing.
First talk to reception, if that fails, let off steam. Not the other way 'round.0 -
I got messed about by a hotel I'd booked through EasyHotels. I complained to the hotel, got moved, then when I got home complained to easyhotels and got the nights accomodation refunded. No biggie0

I have stayed in hotels many times in Paris since the late 70's, and the walls do tend to be quite thin often between rooms over there. Don't seem to have the same rules as here. Can't tell you how many times we have heard energetic exercising going on in the room next door!
Sometimes for hours:eek:............. I always assumed it was Sting booked in with his OH!
Anyhow, I find the best cure to noise is to make some yourself.
