The cheapest ones showing on Amazon now are £7.99 so it looks like I missed the best deal :( I suffer from SAD too, so I was very keen on trying them. For £5 I'd have ordered a couple to try, but £7.99 is just that bit too much.

I hope they will be doing them at £5 again though.

Aww, that's a pity. Must have just been for the week then.
My dad says he'll buy one off me when it comes as he's having trouble reading with his usual bulbs, and he's seen mine and likes them.

This Lite Pad at £30 plus p&p http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0014IV1FK/ is the one my OH uses. A lot cheaper than some we looked at.

These daylight bulbs wont replace a sad lamp in case anyone things they will

Are Full Spectrum and Daylight Bulbs SAD Lights?

No, not at this time. Unfortunately due to clever marketing many people believe they can get a SAD Light treatment just by buying a full spectrum bulb or daylight bulb but this is factually incorrect.
This is misleading as unless the bulb emits 10000 lux they cannot be classed as powerful enough to treat Seasonal Affective Disorder. At this time there is no standard bulb, full spectrum bulb or daylight bulb that is powerful enough to treat SAD. The bulbs emit a pleasant light that can reduce tiredness and give better visual accurity but their benefit in treating SAD is unproven and not based on any medical evidence of which SAD.org.uk are aware.

Anyone used a SAD lamp at all wondered if they are any good

I've had a Philips Original Bright Light HF3300 for about 9 years. It's huge, bright, dimmable & I love it. It gets a fair bit of use each winter, and I haven't yet had to change the bulb. (I dread to think how much that might cost!)

Calm down people i'm doing it. I honestly didnt know, otherwise it wouldn't be on there. It wasn't as if i was selling something or promoting my website or anything like that.
I understand there are rules in place and I've changed it i'm sorry.

Perhaps its one of those things, you have been on a board or along time but should recap on the rules every now again. its all sorted now, i didnt want to ruin the thread with my signature .
