I'd be worried about seriously upsetting any of the kids. My daughter is 12 next month and hates anything scary!
'A series of unfortunate events' is quite dark and creepy but it's a kids film. 'Monster House' is also good.0 -
I would have suggested "The Witches" (adaption of the book with Angelica Huston in it) It's creepy, but there is a sense of comeuppance in it, and I loved that!** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Ooh, what about the Harry Potter films? They are definitely Hallowe'en-y and the later ones are a bit scary (but not too much). They could have a film-fest watching as many as they can before they fall asleep. Magic! Please call me 'Pickle'

What about Roald Dahl's The Witches?0

Def watch yourself first as I don't have children and so it may not be suitable, but there are the Scream films - which may be a bit too scary - but there is a comedy version called Scary Movie. I would have thought that was a 12 certificate.0

yeah gotta be really careful. I was alarmed when a sleepover guest was traumatised by ET. And my own DD was traumatised by Beowulf at a younger friend's party. Tricky stuff. I like the suggestions of Monster House and Carry On0

Both Scream and Scary Movie have an 18 certificate. Although Scary Movie is a comedy it's based on gross out/innuendo and very offensive at times.
As you don't know the maturity level of each individual child I would play it safe and stick with a PG certificate that has a halloween theme. I think Hocus Pocus is the best suggestion so far.0 -
