hi
I have sent of a first stage letter to the abbey after i discovered that a had a ppi on a loan that we took out in 2005 i have a less than a year left on it. I sent this letter of on tuesday and both myself and my husband recieved a letter today, well it was a statement confirming what we have paid over the last year,, no mention of the letter i have sent to them or about reclaiming money. If i do not hear anything else from them how long do i wait before i send another one back to them
thanks for any replies

Hi there.;)
They have 8 weeks in full to respond, if you hear nothing at all by the time 8 weeks have passed, your entitled to take this to the financial ombudsman service (FOS).
You can send them a letter if they write back and do not uphold/resolve in your favour, normally they do give you the opportunity to write back, so basically until they do resolve this, wait for the final decision, the final response also should enclose details of the FOS.
Good luck and please keep us posted.

Hi there
You do not have to do this if you don't want to, you could write back and tell them you want "all" correspondence in writing, in case you need to refer to this at a later date for some reason.
Just quickly write back and tell them you have already provided them with your letter and appreciate that they continue to investigate your complaint, and look forward to hearing from them by 8 weeks of your date on your original letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, also make them aware that you will only deal with this matter in writing.
However, if you decide to ring them, just make sure they don't try talking you into anything, good luck.;)
If you hear nothing then move your case on to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), your entitled to do this if you hear nothing also. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I think this is a new way of doing this and a faster way of completing complaints. I know that others on here have done this and won so its up to you. If you were definately missold and know your own reasons then i would think it would be ok and may speed up your personal complaint.hi
