What is happening to petrol prices this week?

Probably cos Mr. T started giving out the 5p off a litre when you spend £50 last weekend... I did notice their petrol went up 2 or 3p as well, makes the whole thing a sham really#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I have just paid £1.02p a litre for standard unleaded.
Which is exactly the same that I have been paying for the last 4 weeks or so.0 -
Well its gone from £1.04 two weeks ago to £1.07 this week.... do they think people don't notice?#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Round here it has been 101.9 for weeks (and up until Monday) but now most places are 104.9p. Still the odd place at 102.9 but I'm sure they'll catch up0

There has been a ~10% jump in oil prices in the last couple of weeks. Since something like 70% of the forecourt price is tax a ~3% rise is justifiable on that basis. It will probably come back down again though as the higher oil price seems to be based on "market sentiment" rather than "fundamentals". Make of that what you will.0

I noticed the Tesco con on the 22nd October when I filled up with diesel. The previous week the best price for diesel at 3 or 4 filling stations was £102.9. Last week Tesco were charging £105.9 but all the others including Sainsburys & Asda were still charging £102.9. Luckily I had the 5 ppl discount voucher so I paid £100.9 but it's still a con.0 -
Round here they have jumped 3p a litre since Monday. Just wondering what is happening to justify it?
As others have mentioned, Tesco (and now Sainsbury) are offering 5p off per litre if you spend £50 in store. Price has been adjusted to compensate.
Anyone know if Morrisons are too? They often have this deal.
Asda don't have such silly gimmicks (apart from 1p off per litre if you use their credit card). No price change at Asda around here, just Tesco & Sainsburys (no local Morrisons supermarket)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... My local Tesco charges more per litre for their petrol than my local village garage.
Every little helps.. :rolleyes:0 -
I don't get it. During the 2008 madness, the cost of a barrel was exactly what we paid per litre, just with the decimal point moved. i.e. $130 dollars a barrel saw 130.9 on the pump.
Funny how it never came down.
However, I am paying the same now as I was paying in August. i.e. around 106.9p.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
