Thanks for asking Nargleblast. Well CCCS phoned me on Friday and they are putting me on a DMP, it should be set up before Xmas. It would appear I am not a lost cause after all. I feel scared about it but very happy that I am finally sorting this out. CCCS reckon I will be debt free in 10 years, maybe less with good behaviour! :j

If I had not found this board I dont know what would have happened. I have sorted all my paperwork out this weekend and feel like I am starting to gain control again.

Result! Great news Bailey. That ten year estimate is a challenge - by careful budgeting you may be able to reduce that time. Your DMP will be reviewed from time to time to make sure you are paying as much as you can afford, and that you have a workable budget. If any unexpected bills come in - eg car repairs, central heating boiler packs in etc then get back to CCCS and negotiate a reduced payment for a while to cover that. Word of warning ...some creditors accept a DMP arrangement but still chase you to try and get more out of you. It can take a while for this kind of nonsense to settle down, but CCCS will advise you on how to deal with stroppy letters and phone calls. And of course lots of people on here can advise you on how to handle them as well, so don't worry. Remember - they cannot have what you have not got.

Thanks for your advice. I can now say that this weekend I definately had my LBM. I am now prepared for the calls and letters and because I know that CCCS are on my side I will now happily answer the phone and open those dreaded letters. I really do feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. You will now probably be seeing a lot of me on here

Hi I also recently had my LBM I am hoping it gets easier its only been a month but I am adjusting to no buying clothes and no going out. I focus on the day all the balances will show 0.00 and I know it will be sooo worth a few missed nights out. I also plan a little shopping trip as a treat when im debt free and will be not putting it on credit card :D
