  • Hi Bailey, yes it does get better. Just a couple of weeks in and I've stopped waking at 3am everyday and my headaches are going. Doing something about the situation really does help clear the fog.

I've managed to get rid of two debts - only small ones - but just by changing small things like taking sarnies to work every day and basically leaving my purse in my bag. Its suprising how quickly and easily good habits can be learnt. Once you clear one you really feel inspired to deal with the next one.

My next habit to change is the smoking - I've already dropped the wine habit. Wine is a one off treat now rather than something I think I deserve at the end of each day. (And I don't miss it that much).

    Good luck x.
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x
  • Cigs are hard but promise its worth it. I gave up after 27 yrs of smoking and smoked about 30 a day. My sis sent me a demotivator site when i stopped and i tapped in how much i smoked etc... apparantly i had spent the equivalent of £125 k of smokes ... ouch .. my beautiful dream house in puff ... Go for it

Bailey - you cannot change the stress factors (letters, phonecalls etc) but you can change the way you react to them. If you have a realistic set budget for all your outgoings, and you stick to it, then you are more in control and can do something about the debt situation. Stroppy letters and phone calls can be dealt with in a logical, ordered manner with advice from organisations like Payplan or CCCS or National debtline, not to mention the good folks on here. It is now down to you to do something to get yourselves out of this mess - once you take the situation in hand it will be the start of a new life for you.

  • i've just been handed a ccj but confused to who & where i pay it HELP ME!!!
  • Being afraid whenever my phone rang, or when an official letter arrived for me, was what caused my LBM. Once I'd started speaking with all my creditors and letting them know I was having difficulties, the stress was reduced so much.

I think that fear of the unknown (who's calling, what does that letter say) is always going to be worse than knowing, and being able to dictate your own repayment terms is a liberating thing to do. Taking control of things will certainly reduce your stress :-)

Plus you've got all the awesome people on these boards to give advice and encouragement!

Not having had a ccj myself I can't say, but if you start a new thread it will be picked up more easily by those who know about these things, rather than have your question buried amongst another thread.
