Good whiskey for Christmas?

Options
Hi everyone,

My OH and my brother love whiskey. They drink & buy good whiskey (not stuff like Jack Daniels if you know what I mean) but proper brewery (is it called brewery?) whiskey... Like 12 yr old or 15 yr old from some Scottish/Irish places..

You can see I don't understand whiskey much:rotfl::rotfl:

I would like to buy them something unusual, something to drink for special occassions..

Can you recommend some label please?

Budget £25-30??

    I've been Money Tipped!
One my hubby loves is Laphroaig (had to get the bottle to spell it).
    It's supposed to have a peaty/smokey flavour.
Sometimes Morrison's have it on special offer at £18 per bottle (70cl), or it's normally about £23 per bottle.

If you can find it try to get some Black grouse, its a special edition the famous grouse did for charity and it is amazing. My DH loves whiskey, is a real connoisseur in fact, and when he was given some as a present he raved about it for weeks.
I, on the other hand, prefer bourbon and always mix it with coke, but apparently that makes me a heathen ;-)

OH did have 12 yr old Famous Grouse and as we have many in the cupboard I once reached for this one in absence of my Jack Daniels (I also mix with coke) and if look can kill I would be dead now.. I rather put it back and had Malibu & coke instead... :D

So thank you, I might try to find this one as I know for sure he would appreciate it.

Scotch Whisky does not have an e in the spelling only American types do, ie bourbon.

    Go for a good malt.

Looking at the packaging on Google we already had this one... Would have to somehow carefully ask if he liked it a lot. Otherwise I would like to buy something he didn't have yet.

I second Laphroaig, it is a lovely drop of whisky.

I like too Lagavullin, also peaty and smokey.
