Hello,
Received a letter today from Egg regarding my claim for PPI on my Egg Credit Card - Letter as follows.
They said they had carried out a review on my account and they basically said that during my online application i was asked to read the Terms and conditions that were sent to my mail account (This i cannot recall).
They also posted me two screen shots of my online application and that they claim Egg cannot be changed manually by Egg personnel.
They have basically said they are unable to uphold my complaint.
Now, when i read this and looked at the screen shots i decided to call and speak to the Customer Relations Dept and to explain to me what exactly they have sent me and why?
The operator was very calm and polite, she kept on telling me that the box that states "Accident,Sickness,Unemployment and Life" (The one i have circled ) had been chosen by me, Fine i said but tell me where i had selected this from? the box pictured is not a drop down box where i could have selected the option listed, Again i asked the operator to tell me where i had "ticked the Box" Clicked on Yes? She basically said that she could not show me or tell me where the selection was made. On that i said i would have to go.
Please find attached the said screen shot.
Sorry i cannot seem to upload picture? Any help would be great ta
I am heading for the second letter today.
Thanks

Hi SHEEP
Thanks for your update.;)
I still think you have a good chance to be honest, so if this was not the final decision, write back and tell them you would like them to reconsider, as you still believe the policy was mis sold to you, give them about 14 days if you want to and again post by recorded delivery, so you will know it reaches them.
If they don't change the decision you can take your complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), they should give details of these on the final decision letter.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
di3004,
Thanks for the reply.
I should have mentioned that they did include a FOS booklet.
Do you think i should go back to Egg or the FOS.
Thanks

If they have stated its the "final decision" in the letter and that you have exhausted their complaints procedures, then yes go to the FOS.
However, if they have not mentioned this but have sent the FOS booket, you are still able to go this direction..you have that option.
If not write to them again if you want to by giving them your own timescale.;)
If you decide to go the FOS direction now, you can either ring the FOS to post you a complaints form, or download and print from the website.

Hi,
The letter does not say "the decision is Final" I have read through it again and it only says :therefore,in light of the above i am unable to uphold your complaint"
Thanks

Right then okay, if this was me then in my own opinion, I would give it one more go, its up to you, as you may be aware it can take a little while with the FOS, its a job to know what to do for the best really, but you do have 2 options here, either write back and ask them to reconsider - say by 14 days, or go to the FOS.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
di3004,
I have drafted a letter explaining what the operator told me and also to reconsider my claim.
I will keep you informed.
Thanks
