Hi All,
This is a stupid question but one i thought worth asking,
If i was wanted a phone on o2 what difference does it make if i went to CPW or an o2 store? Is there an advantage to either,
I'm trying to grasp why cpw exists when they offer the same contracts and you could just go to the providers individual stores?
The reason i'm thinking this is because my partners birthday is fast approaching and i was going to get her a contract phone for it in my name, i'm trying to work out if there are pro's and con's to going to either the CPW or o2 store?
Thanks guys!

CPW phones are unlocked and you can get cashbacks. Only reason to go there, in my opinion.
I don't know if with an O2 phone from CPW your airtime contract will be with CPW or O2 direct - others will advise. If the former, then beware.
It's your business, of course, but entering into a contract in your name but for your partner has numerous problems. Obviously, if you split up, your is the responsibility to cover the costs till the contract ends. Equally, O2 will almost certainly not discuss any matters on the contract with your partner as the bill is in your name. Also, the mobile number would belong to you and not them, should things go sour between you.
I would strongly advise you to get a contract in your partner's name, but arrange for the bills to come to you - at least initially . That would get round the problems above. You could still give her a surprise by wrapping an old knackered phone and giving it to her on her birthday, telling her she could exchange it at CPW for a brand new one.0
