oil filled radiator heating for Portugal, any good?

Hi,

I live in Portugal in an old appartment. The climate doesn't quite justify fitting central heating as winters are mild, but I miss my radiator heat I used to have in the UK.

So I wanted to ask the ones in-the-know if they think that having three small oil filled radiators (one in the main bedroom and two in the living room) would be a good idea to get some overall cosy heat. I've tried the electic fan type, and as soon as it goes off the room feels cold again. And they are too noisy. I have also tried a bottled gas heater, which gives loads of heat, but each new bottle costs 22 euros and only lasts a week.

Also, do oil filled radiators help keep humidy levels down? - as these old buildings can get a damp chilly air feel to them.

I want to wake up with that cosy radiator heat vibe. Can I get that with an oil filled appliance???

Many thanks

Oil filled radiators distribute the heat in the same way a central heating one would.

Same issue with other electric heaters: on=toasty but off=cold.

The gas heater I had was amazing at getting the room hot but it was noisy and stunk.

Rather than buying 3 oil filled radiators how about starting with 1 and seeing how it suits you? I went for a Delonghi TRD0715T which I am pretty happy with. Cheap to buy and running costs aren't too high (as long as you don't have it on full blast too often!)
