Sky+HD faulty remote & warranty...

Hi all,

looking for a bit of help, just less than an hour ago my Sky remote "died" theres no infra red activity and the red led on the remote has stopped flashing when pressing buttons. Ive changed batteries for know working ones, tried resetting the remote etc and after an hour on the phone to sky "india" customer services they also decided it was dead.

Now i've been a sky customer for years paying roughly £45-£50 a month and my warrany just happened to run out 5 days ago (im sure sky make things to break just after the warranty!) but they refuse to send me out a free remote and want nearly £30 for a new one, after some he suddenly said he could offer a £10 discount out of the blue (which he could have offered anytime but he was obviously trying to fleece me!) now for the sake of 5 days I just feel they could send me one out.

any comments or suggestions on what to do next?

Thanks in advance,

Daniel
