The reason you feel as sick as a parrot is that you know youre doing the wrong thing. Poor little bird, he doesnt deserve to lose his home. I think you should do what everyone else says and keep him.

Don't do it Natty. I have just had my first interview with the CCCs and I have a horse (as well as 2 dogs + a cat).I thought they would say I would have to sell her but they didn't they did say however my creditors may not like it.

I'll keep her one way or another as I have had her from birth, she is 16 yrs next month. I don't drink, smoke or go on holidays so she is MY luxury. I don't have children either so you could say she was my dependant.( I'm sure not everyone will agree)
  • No I wouldn't sell my granny aswell. yes £650 would make a dent (pay off one of my credit cards) but it isn't just that, he is mainly on his own which is not good for parrots because we and my OH both have different jobs since we got him and it just isn't fair to keep him.

I have not taken this decision lightly as he is part of the family. I just want him to have the best in life and at the moment he isn't getting that.

I am not a horrible person I am just being honest

keep it.. it can't cost that much to feed... and you could look at the "blueX vets" to help you out should your pet need to be seen. if you have had it 10 years you will miss it like mad and kick yourself once it's gone, do try to hold onto it.. Good Luck
 Keep your Chin up.. it can only get better
 I'm one of those people who was born to have money,

  • As yet I haven't advertised him anywhere I took the notice off where I was going to put it, after I posted on here.

For me that is the most important thing then. If it was just down to paying off debts personally I wouldn't do it! £650 isn't worth that much heartache.

However if you are selling him because like you say you can't look after him how he deserves to be then yes you should sell him.

It's a hard decision but you have to put the parrot first which you are. It may not mean much but well done, you are doing the right thing by him. :)
