Anyone could recommend a sollic?

Hi fellow MSE'rs
As some of you may know from my sig, we have lost our house. The vendors pulled out on us due to someone turning sick over the weekend and them not being able to afford their other place in London deciced to come back to the hous ethey finished paying the mortgage on in Southampton.
Now, since I blame our sollic for sending us crap paperwork (contract missing in a contract pack, questions not asked to other party, mispelt name, wrong postcode, etc) so crap we sent her a 2 page covering letter pointing out the wrong stuff, which had to be sent back and delayed us and allowed the vendors to pull out since the contracts did not get signed, we want to change sollic.
I was just wondering if anyone knew some decent good ones in the Southampton area who work fairly quick and do not make stupid mistakes like thos mentioned earlier. I have been on the law society website and there is one that has all the accreditations you could think of and is "no sale, no fee". But I really dont know if we should go for them since our current one is "no sale no fee" and turned out to be crap.
Anyone can recommend anything out there?
Also, if we want to ask the vendors to cover our losses (fees, survey, valaution) at about 880 pounds, is it normal that our sollic told us to write a letter to send to them (sollic) so they can pass it on to the vendors' sollic. Why do WE have to write down that letter? Surely, our sollic should be doing that, not us?
Thanks in advance for the help!

I can tell you now, if Thompsons solicitors in plymouth & southampton is mentioned I would AVOID!! with a bargepole, after I had to sack them losing few hundred i paid upfront and they startred sending me other peoples birth certificates & banking details & sent me other peoples deeds etc. Absolutely shambolic.
I can recommend one in Herts, but I guess you want something local do you? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

There's nothing that says you have to use a local solictor as long as you're happy to pop your passports in the post.
Our solicitor is great. We've used her umpteen times and always recommend her to friends. I have to watch that my husband doesn't run off with her, though I'm not sure she'd have him

madfrenchgirl, just saw your sig on DT and wanted to say grrrrrr on your behalf.
Can recommend the people I'm currently using, but again, aren't local to Southampton.

Your better off writing to the vendor directly. The vendor's solicitor will just tell you its a risk you take and they have no obligation. Advice your solicitor will give you. You can write directly and they may have some sympathy but legally they are not under any obligation. thx a bunch guys
it is still worth getting a quote from them and compare it with a local...
Anyone think I should get the sollic who was in charge of my case a serious bollocking by talking to her supervisor?
After all, anyone in any profession would get told off for mistakes as blatant as that, so why not her?"Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye

for what its worth, yes. I complained to thompsons and the response I got over the phone from one of the senoir partners was "oh well, you know how it is, theres bits of paper all over the place here, must be the same in your office?" I was like, er no. YOUR FIRED:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Avoid Enever Freeman And Co in Ruislip at all costs, they have got to be the worst I have ever come across.0

AVOID https://www.mypathway.co.uk (Pathway residential property lawyers)...they never answer phone or if you leave a message never call back...All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.0

Hi there
You're fairly local ish to me. 2.5 years ago I used Bookers and Bolton in Alton and they were great. Would recommend them.
Good luck!
