Yorkshire wate wont send us a bill

We moved into our hose in November and as yet have not had to pay for water.
We received a bill back in January and we called to sort payment. They advised us that the water usage was extremly high and that we could have a leak otherwise the monthly payments would be around £100 a month. They advised us tonot use any water and check meter and then check it again in a couple of hours to see if it has moved.
In the process of doing this we noticed that our meter had a lower reading than the one they had billed us for and after looking, found that whoever read the meter had probably read the meter gfor nex doors as this was a similar reading to what we had been billed for.
We checked serial numbers from our bill and no for a fact that we are looking at the correct meter. We informed Yorkshire water of this back in January and they said they would resend someone to read the meter again and they would put the account on stop so we would not receive anymore bills.
We have been ringing YW every few weeks but they still havent said anyone out and keep telling us not to worry as there not chasing for payment. Its just annoying me that one day we are going to get a massive bill for 6months water even though we are putting money away every month to cover this

If I were in your shoes I'd put it all in writing and send by recorded delivery. Ask them to reply within 10 days giving an appointment with the meter reader. If they did not respond , I'd send a copy covered by a letter to the chairman, the chief executive, and the public relations department.
I would also send them a cheque for what I think I owed them so far 'on account' and pending an accurate bill from them, and also ask in the light of current national water shortages when they will repair the leak they suspect.0 -

United Utilities are just as useless, live for 2yrs at my property and am yet to get a bill in my name after 2yrs of trying. i've paid the red bills i keep getting in a different name but as yet still bills in the name of someone who never lived here (i am the first it is a new build property) and some bills in other made up names, i've phoned, e-mailed but still they are too plain stupid to be able to send a bill out. i work for a different part of the company too but still cant get them to listen to me, they are more interested in off shoring and cutting costs0
