Best way to unlock a new mobile

Hi, my OH has a Tesco voucher to the value of £50 to spend on a new phone. He is quite happy with the current phone that he has and has given me the voucher to use. I am with Orange PAYG and would like to know if I purchased a mobile with a different network, would it be possibe to unlock and keep my own number. Tesco do sell PAYG Orange phones but a bit dated in styles. What is the best way to use this voucher and keep my number with Orange. Thanks

Some phones can be unlocked with codes.
But its best to check if the paygo phone you get is already unlocked (most tend to be now days).

Just check first if the phone you get is unlocked or not - if its an Orange phone, you will have nothing to worry about.
