I'm with your buyer, sorry. If you didn't post it recorded and it is a DVD then surely you could have popped it in a post box? This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

If a seller waited 6 days to post something to me they could expect 1* and neg' feedback.Terms & Conditions Apply0

I agree you should send an apologetic email to try to avoid bad star ratings on dispatch time and communication. It doesn't seem to matter what you put in the listing, people will still leave ratings according to how they feel your performance as a seller was eg with postage the buyer will always know how much the postage is from the listing but that doesn't stop them complaining that it's too high after agreeing to the postage when they bid. So you can state you will post it within a week and the buyer can agree to that but they can still complain.0

I also think this is crap service and as a buyer I would definintely mark down.0

tell the buyer your cat has cancer, a friend died, your guinea pig is clinically depressed and you needed to take your little pet to the vet.
Always seems to happen to me when people don't pay when they win my auction

Just a rant really, a buyer bought one of my items (£4 + free pp) last week on the 14th. I have been unable to post it until yesterday.
Postage was listed as free 2nd class p+p.
Any way, i got a message from her today saying
Q: i paid for this dvd a week ago and still not recieved it can you confirm the dispatch date as royal mail are on strike for 2 days after today and if my item is not here today i am planning on opening a paypal dispute for a non recieved item
Sounds a bit threatening. The listing stated estimated delivery date 8 - 10 working days, I posted it yesterday 4 working days after purchase, so she will be receiving it in 6.
Is she right, can she open a dispute for this time delay?
Cheers, N
What do you state on your listings is the time you will take to post?
If you care about being a seller it's no good saying I did'nt get around to it. You should prioritise poosting items.
A DVD would not be hard to bag and post. I think the buyer is right to be cross and I doubt they will get it tomorrow. My PO says there is one very early morning collection tomorrow and then nothing.0 -
Sounds like you were honest with the postage timescale, stating 8-10 days on your listing (althogh that would have put me off). I take it you are a private seller and people should realise that private sellers do have a life outside eBay and can't always post immediately.
That said, the post strike has been well publicised and I personally would have gone out of my way to make sure it was in the system in good time to ensure the strike did not delay further.0 -
Might be better to plan ahead and end your auctions one or two days before you are able to post.0
