Does anyone know what dates student finance are now processing for grants?

I sent all my evidence off to student finance months ago, speacial delivery. They sent it all to the wrong dept and it was only sent to the right dept mid August. They told me that my application would be considered as if it was sent mid August..even tho i sent it months earlier....so now it is in box somewhere awaiting someone to assess it

Anyway.. does anyone know what dates they are currently processing? I have tried to call but with no joy.

On the website it says mid to late September, so they should be doing people's stuff soon. Brian's daughter, I'd phone them up and ask if they have it, if you sent it recorded, do they have the tracking number. You need to keep hitting redial if you get the recorded message, I had to for about five minutes but eventually got through.

I phoned today and apparently they are about 5 weeks behind at the moment. So likely another 5 weeks with no more money. 5 weeks with the last £200 of my overdraft. FML.

My daughter got her notification today..she applied in May.. The notification is wrong cause they have missed off our income..they said today that they are still 10 weeks behind with the post!!! So our proof of income is floating about somewhere:confused::confused:

They told you 10 weeks? I was told 5-6 on Friday. I wish they could at least get their stories straight if they're going to fob us off with excuses

Email your MP with the details, get them to contact them on your behalf.

I did and my daughter got hers approved that day (was told it would be December by Student Finance).

Received a letter from my MP enclosing the student finances response.
Thank you for your letter of 29th September regarding your constituent's application for student finance.

I was very concerned to learn that xxxxxx had become so upset following contact with our advisors and I apologise for any distress we may have caused.

I can confirm that I have today approved a full means tested assessment for xxx giving her the maximum level of support available ...........................................

    Does it say it's final?

If not, send back the declaration form. When that goes through, she'll get the basic non-income assessed, and when the income assessed is sorted, that will be sent as a seperate payment for this installment

  • This is from the Student Finance website -
'Applications from late September and early October are currently being processed.'

I am still awaiting my grant and got told on the phone yesterday to call back within 2 weeks if I hadnt heard anything,
I sent my information the 2nd week of september
    HTH
  • Does anyone know what date counts for the loan being procesed? The date on the website shows oct 2nd when i first applied. I have been approved but i have only sent my signature today. Is it however many weeks from when they have received all my info and my signature or from when i first registered.
    Thanks.
