the hardest part is when I've made a mistake that is a serious, it has a knock on effect on the rest of my driving and the rest of my drive goes bad well, hence the loads of serious'! today I just felt that when can we pull over and he can just tell me so I dont have to continue the test. i really tried to not make the fist serious have an impact but in the end it did.

    Bach's rescue remedy?

Just wanted to say, keep going. I passed third time and have a friend who i think passed fourth time, she tried not to tell us when the test was in the end.

It's over ten years later now, but as I reverse up a narrow lane because another driver can't, I do feel I've come a long way.

There are day long courses you can go on with the test at the end. Do you fancy trying one of those? Is there another loacl town you could try it in?

My wife was stuggling with nerves on the test after her 6th test so got her instructor to sit in and past straight away. I think it helped as the examiner knew he was being watched as well. It was good to have the 3rd person (ok not exactly independent as he wanted my wife to pass!)

yep, this third one was in a different test area, apparently this area is easier than my previous two tests as the roads are wider and less traffic. i did find it easier in the lessons but today it just seemed as if everything was going wrong!

I'm wondering taht for the next test I'll ask my examiner not to make me have a lesson before as this could be a reason? Has anyone else ever done this?

well, my family HAD to know...i was up at 5:30! had an early test....they'd wonder where I'm off to so early in the morning. My mum thinks this was my second:o

what really bugs me is when people say "You still haven't passed! How many more lessons are you going to take?" I try not to think about it but it does put pressure on me so I try not to bring up the topic lol

I think that people are confusing Instructor with Examiner.

    Instructor teaches.

    Examiner tests.

I really sympathise. I can completely understand someone failing three times because of nerves but being a perfectly good driver under normal conditions. I passed first go with 12 minors, all of which were things I'd never, ever have done in real life but I was so nervous I just fell to pieces and drove horribly. At the end of the test I pulled up at the test centre and burst into tears!

Rescue Remedy didn't work for me but I know a few people who swear by it, including one of my friends who swears she'd never have got through the driving test without it (she passed on her fifth go). It's definitely worth a try.

Oh and I agree, don't tell anyone you're doing your next test. Hardly anyone knew when I was doing mine as I didn't want to have to say I'd failed, but it was lovely being able to tell people I'd passed when they had no idea I'd done the test in the first place!

Good luck for your next one.
