just got back from a driving test....failed.......:embarasse:embarasse this was my third one, got 6 serious' and only 2 minors!
I have no idead how I managed to fail so badly and my instructor says there's nothing that i need to know more of as I dont even usually make these mistakes! i agree, I was sooo nervous and the test seemed like going on forever!!!!
what can I do now, really want to pass the next time round as its costing quite a bit- £140 for a test!!!!!:eek::eek:

I've tried everything possible to combat the nerves but don't know where I am going wrong. Can someone please tell me that there is someone out here on the same boat as me...lessons are good but flop terribly on the test!:o

Also any tips??? It really makes me feel really down especially when freiends and family members are looking for you to you to pass.:(

There are tons of people in the same boat, only thing to do is keep going. Try not to worry about other people as well.

If you know your stuff (and it sounds like you do) then you're bound to pass eventually.

Why not do what my mate did and keep the next test to yourself? You won't then have other people wishing you good luck (and building the pressure) and you can pretend it is just another lesson.

Consider changing your Driving Instructor, to get 6 serious faults on your 3rd attempt is clearly not very good.

All Driving Instructors are qualified by the DSA, however some are much better than others.

Yes i think keeping it to yourself is the way to go.
When i was 16 and we all had motorbikes, one of the lads told everyone he was taking his test, on the day a gang of them turned up and followed him around the route waving and pulling in front of him. Needless to say he failed, after that we all kept quiet.
Past mine over 35yrs ago, i'm sure it's harder today and hate to have to do it now.
I would say before your next one have a couple of large drinks to settle your nerves.
Or perhaps that's not such a good idea.

my instructors really good...grade 6 and my lessons all go well too but the tests are where I really fail
• My ex was the same, he was great at driving in lessons but failed 4 tests. he just got nervous and made silly mistakes.

Im lucky as my partner is a driving instructor and he is teaching me. Im not at test standard yet but i do get quite nervous and he told me to try 'rescue remedy'. Not sure if it would help you but its worth a try and it does say its recommended for driving tests. You will find it in Holland & Barrett, Boots, Superdrugs.

In my opinion, i dont think its the instructors fault. Lots of people can drive really well, are ready for their test but dont always pass first time, second, or third.

Work more on your mistakes you made, aswel as working on trying to relax.

Good luck on your next test. Im sure you wont need it though

Don't give up!! I failed 5 times!!!! I couldn't give up, even though it was a standing joke! I've had my license for 3 years now and am using the same instructor to teach my son. I had a motorway lesson with him last year as we live in the sticks and, due to family circumstances suddenly had to drive 400 mile round trips! He complimented on my lack of bad habits!!
I was so nervous in the tests my legs would shake uncontrollably, my hand would sweat and one time I had a panic attack and stopped the test.
Having said that I'm now a volunteer driver and I love it.
My children reckon I'm a better driver than their dad because I never get stressed!!!
The night before my last test I visualised passing and being free to drive wherever I liked. I had booked my test quite early so the nerves didn't have time to build up and I didn't tell anyone.
Good luck!!

I think it's possible for you driving instructor to accompany you on the test as a rear seat passenger, in silence of course. Maybe that would help your confidence?
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
