Once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings infinite distances continue, a wonderful living side by side can grow, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole against the sky.

You wanna count it as a blessing that you missed the half priced Teachers. You might have been tempted to buy it. That stuff is bad. Give me a single malt any day.

Our local Safeway is closing on the 15th and re-opening as Somerfields. Anyone know if they're any good or not?If I had known then what I know now . . .

Ours too will become a Somerfields - not till March or thereabouts I think.
I have heard *very* mixed reports about Somerfields - but then when we first changed to Morrisons the quality dropped substantialy - but has picked up again since.
I guess we will find out in due course...
(I *so* wanted Asda to buy Safeway

It would be sheer heaven if Asda had taken them over - or even Tesco for that matter. We just have a Safeway and a small Co-op. It's 10 miles to our nearest Tesco and 20 to Asda. I'd never be out of there so maybe it's just as well. My mum works for Safeway (she's been there nearly 40 years) and it started off as Liptons, then Templetons, then Presto, then Safeway, Morrisons and now Somerfields. (don't think I missed any in between). If I had known then what I know now . . .

I can beat that!!! We have a Safeway and a Co-op and it is 200 miles to the nearest Tesco, Asda or anything else for that matter!
......mind you - I do live on an island.... ;D Yeah, we have also gone through the various incarnations of Liptons etc - not sure that there are any surviving staff members from the Lipton days though!0 -

you are correct, the change over is in March,6 of our people have been there for the last 3 weeks doing remeadial work.
Morrisons have decided that, they only want the stores closed for 3 days for the refit instead of 10,so hence a lot of behind the sceens work being done in all stores. They want to convert 3/4 per week.A thankyou is payment enough .0
