Lol
That sounds like me the other day, floor covered in cat and dog pawprints, plus DS who somehow manages to walk on every inch of floor before taking his shoes off.
I gave up in the end and said i'd do it again when it's drier. Probs be waiting til next May at this rate though
eek.....couldn't do it. I just wash really thoroughly once/twice week (skirtings etc), then reasonable thoroughly in the mornings (up to skirtings) then putthe rugs down and clean the mop then whiz over everytime the dogs go in and out with a damp, dettol-y mop.
Cats are harder...they come in through a window....on to my bed . Means prtecting the bed, and cleaning the wall and windowil twice a day: more in this weather.0 -
Ahh i'm not known for my houseproudness but that said, my house is like a palace compared to the one in the Mel B house (was it the 3 girls room?) I don't mind the laminate being a bit grubby while it's raining as long as it's swept.
I couldn't live in a house with a major rat problem like the Keith house (or was it rugby guy?) - was she serious when she said they chop of their heads with a spade?
Nice...
She talked like it was normal! I have a bit of a slug problem near the back door (in that there is the odd few that sneak in on a night then disappear again by morning) but rats?!! Disgusting.0 -
I have been known to open cupboards and toss things in when people turn up unexpectedly. A neat freik I am not.
But how people can live in squalor is beyond me.
It really doesn't take much effort to keep a house reasonably clean and tidy.
How can you let a child sleep on a dirty mattress with no sheets?Retail is the only therapy that works0 -

Pee and poo in the place where you wash your dishes _pale_I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -
How were they providing for themselves? Jobseekers and betting down the local bet shop? fiver a time...
Seriously...people just complain they aint got nothing but go waste what little they got... its scandalous.0 -
I think they all had quite a bit of money. It's not what you have that makes you poor, it's how you spend it.
Most people refuse to see their overspending habits, or poor choices. We all make them, but when push comes to shove, you have to recognise where savings can be made.0 -
I didn't watch it but saw a talk about it, was the old biddy on there who smoked like a train and had a problem with slot machines?? She discovers scooters are free to use and then gets back on the bandits....... !!!!!!??I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0

I`ve just watched it. I`ve been on income support with 4 children but had a mortgage to pay minus the interest. We managed really well and I had all the time in the world to clean the house and keep it tidy. I could never let my children sleep in beds like that. Primark bedding is really cheap so there is really no excuse at all.0

Where I live, you can phone the environmental health if you have a rat problem, and they will send someone out with poison to control them.
It's different for mice. The tenant has to take measures to control that problem [or not ], however, the local council does provide poison if the tenant cannot get any - they just have to go to the local neighbourhood office to sign for it.There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story.
