Who has really saved money by switching suppliers?

Not me. I changed last year with the promise of saving £100 or something, and a quidco cashback carrot - but my monthly dd went UP by £10. There is very little chance that I used more this year as I was away for 3 months during the winter this year, and also there used to be a lodger living here, but now I'm on my own. I don't know how those sites work out that it'll be cheaper for you.
That all said, I've just rang up and negotiated in the old fashioned way and have managed to get a much bigger discount just by being nice and chatty on the phone.[SIZE=-4]MF date: Dec [STRIKE]2028[/STRIKE] 2019. Overpayments in 2007=£900, 2008=£1200 2009=23400[/SIZE]0 -
Out of interest, EON also told me to check energyhelpline.com. I didn't though. I don't trust them any more and have no idea how they work out if it'll be cheaper for you after last year's £120 mistake.[SIZE=-4]MF date: Dec [STRIKE]2028[/STRIKE] 2019. More rubbish from Mattcanary. Please identify one switching site that does not list both Ebico and Utility Warehouse.0 -

Out of interest how exactly did you negotiate a bigger discount? Did you negotiate your direct debits down? as thats not the same.
Ask most of the suppliers and they will lower your direct debit, doesnt alter the fact you are still using the same ammount and you will just end up in debt. Be careful what you believe when it comes to "negotiating discounts"
EDIT: Also, forgot to add, you may have been quoted a savings of £100 or something before the price rises came along and wiped out any savings, that could be the reason for your direct debit being higher?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
