Hello
you don't mention web, or a new phones, if this are not included then it's a lousy offer.
I had a similar offer but with ultd web as well for £16.50, was not good enough so I requested a PAC number. A week later I phoned to confirm I wanted to give notice, spoke to the retention dept thsi time, and they lowered it to £15.
This was with a free Nokia 5800 as well, but Virgin's was still better, got 240mins, unltd web (1g), ultd texts (3000), unltd calls to virgin mob, free voicemail for £22 which suits me better.
I have two lines as well, but I'm under the impression they don't care about the other one, probably they only get commission on the one they are dealing with now, so telling them you'll move the second one as well, like I did, may not make any difference.0 -

No - it is not. I got 400 mins/300 texts/500Mb data/unlimited landline calls all for under £10 renewing with Orange. And a cheap Nokia thrown in too.
It all depends upon what you would really like - how many minutes/texts - how much is your maximum budget? Give us some of that information and you will get some advice.0 -
I also need some help with t-mobile renewals... i posted originally on the "T-mobile retentions" thread
Here it is in case anyone can offer advice (the situation hasn't changed because t-mobile still haven't released the 8520 blackberry despiting telling me it would be last monday )Hi there, i'm a first time poster!
I'm just coming to the end (2 weeks left) of an 18month contract (Flext, ~29 quid a month, Blackberry Pearl).
I'm pretty specific about what I want from them if they want to hold on to my custom. ie. a Curve 8900 or 8520 (apparently T-mobile will get the 8520 from tomorrow or so i'm told by their rep), with blackberry push email and internet for the same price or less than i pay now.
So far they 've told me there's no chance, and they have offered me £35/month for the 8900 (their original offer was 35quid plus 45 quid for the 8900 handset). In the meantime, they have discounted 10 quid off my line rental while I think about it.
As soon as I see the 8520 on their website (hopefully tomorrow) I'm going to ring and ask for my PAC unless they can meet my requirements. (I have seen 18month deals on CPW for 30 quid, after all).
Any ideas of how far i should push them? Or techniques to get a better deal?
cheers guys :T0 -
My partner is on Flext 35 for £30 a month. That was a good deal, but they not longer do it. On Flext you get int calls, int texts, 0845 nos etc all inclusive, while on other contracts you normally don't. Keep that into account.
A lower cost for too few minutes will mean higher bills in the end.
As I said you need to get to speak to the retention dept, with a PAC in your hands and a better deal to quote.
But it may not work, so be prepared to move. With number portability being a smooth process nowadays that should not be too bad if you get a good deal.
I would stay away from 3, and Vodafone seem to have a bad reputation here too.
Good luck!0 -
DRP
forgot to mention.
I've just got myself a Nokia 5800 and I find it much better than the Blackberry I had for work (don't know what model, but it was brand new two months ago).
It has push mail, gps, great for watching videos (including BBCi when on wifi), or listen to musing, large touch screen, very light, much easier to use.
I thought not having a keypad could be a problem, but the virtual keyboard is great.
You can get it for free from just £20 (3) or 22 (virgin). See previous messages for offers I got from Tmob0 -
thanks for the info, t_f
i tried the 5800 in a shop and found the screen really unresponsive (maybe my sausage fingers) so had to use the stylus .... which is no good for one handed texting!
The current crop of blackberries seem expensive (from all networks), so I 'd really like to know how far people have beaten down t-mobile at upgrade (or what push/internet BB deals people have found with other networks?)0 -

The full screen keyboard is not great with one finger, but the alphanumeric pad (same as a mobile phone one, but on screen) is quite good on mine. It's not as responsive as my partner's G1 though (but that is not a good phone to use, very fiddly!). I've never had a touch screen BB (that was for directors only ) so can't compare.
But you are right you need to like the phone you buy, and it must be good for what you need to use it for.
I just think that G2, iphone, BB, HTC are so expensive compared to the "as-good-as" 5800.0 -
Thanks all for all your advice,
I just spokewith Tmobile now and the guy was not eager to offer me a better deal, he even said I have to pay for my voicemail now which I've never paid for be4. he's offering me a good offer ''he said'',
My budget is nothing less than £13:-£15 a month bec I have another line with them £25 flex.
I am even so angry bec my contracts ends next week, and I have not given my notice yet...By the what is PAC ??0 -

You need it to transfer your phone number to another operator, it will show you mean business.
The retention dept can give you the best deals, they have more scope for reducing the cost of your package, make sure you select the option of leaving T mobile when you phone again. As I said I phoned twice and the second time the offer was better.
Also you should probably have the option of staying with the contract you have if it's a good deal and you don't want to change it. Some Flext are great deals.0 -
Hi all again,
I just finished with TMOBILE Now...at last the guy offered me £12:50 with unltd Tmobile calls anytime, and 100mins and text any network anytime and A free latest nitendo DS lite with a free game.all with VAT.
He now said I can opt out anytime at no charge within my contract to £4:89 per month same deal except 5 free tmobile calls for 3month anytime.
...I don't really need a new phone cause I just bought a new handset on a deal....
