You already know the answer. If she wants to go on PAYG, she rings and insists that they put her on PAYG. She also needs to check that they have not now put her on a 18-month contract.

Best answer is to cancel contract and go with ASDA PAYG (cheapest if reception is good and she actually wants PAYG). Tesco Lite also same price except for Internet which is extortionate, but you do get Tesco points on their network.

Check other threads for foolproof way to cancel 3 contract.

You only have to give 30 written days notice, so there should be no problem cancelling and moving to PAYG, email them asking to transfer her from contract to PAYG within 30 days. As the contract term is over, but as above, do shop around to find the best PAYG deals.

Yes, you are right. I assumed the OP had the contract in her name, as you suggested as 3 changed the term during their conversation with her.

Not if the customer service rep has put her/him on a new 18-month contract as the original post suggests may have happened ! Tried getting chewing gum off your shoe? Easier than getting out of a 3 contract, it would seem.
  • thanks for the help

yes his phone is in her name and she only wants to go to pay and go as he wants his number and doesnt have credit rating to get a phone in his own name. think i will tell her to ring and let me speak to them do you think they will do that

They probably will let you deal with it - particularly if she claims to have lost her voice -, but don't even mention husband as it is irrelevant and will confuse even more.

The real worry is that a new contract may have been started.
