Make sure it's something that doesn't sound like any of the family's names, so he can learn his own name.;)

Also try shouting it a few times, see if you feel daft (shouting little willie in the park can get you into trouble)

    Just call him c'mere!

OR, the line from the old film 'kidnapped' can we call the babby Rover?

No-one calls their dogs that anymore.

We had a neighbour when I was young who called her dog Mountie, in hindsight I hope it's because they had fond memories of a visit to Canada!!:rotfl:

Don't know about name for your new dog, but how about fool for you.

    Kennels are overflowing with Staffs.

Exactly how much research did you make into this dog?

Hopefully a lot more than the Rotweiller pup advertised in a shop window.

Frankly, you and your mate sound like the pet owners from Hell.

As for the the so called animal lovers here, helping him to choose a name.

    Shame.

Ah thanks such a lovely post.

Iv wanted a blue staff for about 5 years +, just never had the opportunity before. Iv done about as much research as you probably could too.

The only reason I looked at a Rotty advert because it was so cheap and it sparked some interest. It was never in my heart - hence why I never got it!

Iv had dogs for 25 years... so hardly lacking in any experience either. As for the Kennels, None of them had a blue staffy that was young enough for me. ;) .......... NEXT!
  • You know my thought on the breeding of staffies in particular, so I won't go over old ground, but I am amazed that the breeder is saying the pup may be ready to go at 6 1/2 weeks

The sort've breeder i'd stay well away from! 6.5 weeks is not ready! Not that i'd go near a Staffy breeder when there's tons in rescue but to each their own, as to names i'll have a think, any pics?

My friend had a dog called "Blue" which I think is quite a cool name - fits in with your blue staffy??

7 weeks will be the absolute minimum....the breeder says it all depends on when the mother starts to wean the pups off and when they start to fend/ eat for themselves.

The day im due to get him will be 7 weeks 4 days. (3 days under the 'rule' I suppose, but nothing major). Like I said it all depends on how the pup is progressing in its own time.....im not in any rush and neither is the breeder. The pup could stay there till 12 weeks if I requested! :T
