Am currently paying £17.99 Wanadoo Braodband and BT is only around £17.50 a month - mainly line rental, free evening & weekend local calls. Use mobile for majority of calls as 100's of free minutes (work phone).
Want to upgrade to wireless. Was quite happy with Wanadoo, never had any probs. But have spent 1/2 hour speaking to them today (trying to install broadband on laptop but can't remember password etc. they are insisting my email address is 1 thing, although I get me monthly bill to another address! Also tried to order wireless - but if I'm 'so important to them' they should have answered the phone.....
So, prepared to ditch them. Can someone please advise me on best wireless package. Can't get hold of son for a few dayts to find out requiremenst, but he does download a lot, so prob need more than minimum package.
Help me please!!!!

By wireless package are you meaning the wireless router that comes with Wanadoo?
Its quite cheap nowadays to get a wireless router from the likes of PCW without going for the one with Wanadoo which I think, don't quote me, will only work with Wanadoo.0 -
As mentioned above, get yourself an ADSL wireless router.
Wanadoo settings are then entered on the router which is always connected.
You don't need any settings then on your PC on notebook apart from email etc.
account name for connection usually ends

Thanks to both of you, I wasn't aware thsi was an option so will def. explore. May leave till weekend when DS back from uni.... brain hurting too much!
If I got my own thingy would that mean I could sign up with any provider for ordinary broadband, then install own wireless without telling them?

What you do with the connection in your own home is your business. This is your own private network ( as long as you secure it from others !!!!) but that comes once you up & running.0
