T-Mobile - be careful to get it in writing

Am I having particularly bad luck with mobile companies or what?
Spoke to T-mobile last week and offered a good deal at 25 pounds a month
Picked up the phone from the Post Office on Saturday
Within an hour realised the 25 quid was ex VAT
Note I would not have taken out the deal at 30 pounds but was very happy at 25
Phoned T-Mobile immediately
Explained the price on my bill was correct ie 25 plus VAT
This person was helpful but couldnt see the records from the sales team but said they would call back
Sales did not call back
I have just spoken to T-Mobile again to be told they cant help
And I dealt directly to avoid all of the funny business you get with intermediaries
I wish Id have got the offer in writing but assumed wrongly that this wouldnt be necessary
The thing is I like the phone and the coverage is good but I am not doing business having been deceived like this

You only have 7 days to cancel so you'd better do that straight away.0

Agreed.
This was obviously one of their business tariffs and it is surprising they put you on that if you are a "domestic" customer.
Send back the phone, after telling them of course, and take some time checking what is on offer on the web sites as well as trying to see what your previous network - assuming you have a contract already - will offer.
But do it within the 7 days, as MJ says.0 -
Thanks fellas
Its already on its way back
Im kind of fuming about this
The customer services guys were all polite and helpful which is totally at odds with how I wasnt fully put in the picture by the sales guy
And waiting in vain for a call back from sales isnt particularly great either despite promises it would happen
I didnt expect to have to put up with the kind of sharp practice the 3rd party guys get slagged off for on here from one of the big companies directly
Grrrrr0
