Anyone fancy eating this? This is the Asda Toffee covered rotten apple. I bit into this the same day I purchased it...... and Asda can't even be bothered to respond to my emails.0

Can't see the picture as I'm at work and they have some filter on, but Asda takes ages to respond to e-mails. Asda products do seem to be a much poorer quality than a few years back.I hate migraines.0

Placed the offending item into 2 plastic bags as the smell was so bad and drove back to Asda to get a refund.
Went to the customer service desk and explained the problem and was just given a refund of the meat even though I explained that the last time this happened I was also given a "£2 gift card" for the trouble of having to make a special journey to return the item. The sour faced customer service staff it clear that she was not going to give any "gift card" for my trouble of driving there and returning the item, so by helping them out I ended up out of pocket.
Will now avoid Asda meat as it's not the first time they have sold meat that was unfit for human consumption.
Sorry for the rant
Can I ask you a question was the meat vacuumed sealed? as I always buy pork joints in vacuumed packaging if so, the odour that came from the meat was foul smelling it could be because
When you take meat out of a vacuum pack, you’ll often notice a surprising smell. Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with your meat, and as the oxygen returns to the meat it’ll disappear completely. In the same way, the colour of your meat will bloom. Beef and lamb will go a nice rosy red, while pork will turn a deep pink and veal a lighter pink. this chemical reaction is known as Blooming
To let all this happen and to make sure your meat is at its best, take it out of the vacuum pack at least an hour before you want to cook it.
Just a thought but this may have been the reason why you have experienced foul smelling meat from asda;)LOVE isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live WITHOUT0 -
That apple is gross. Think OH is rightly justified with sticking to Sainsburys (and Tescos when its my turn to do the shop!)** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

I was going to say your experience could be a good reason to go vegetarian - then I saw the apple ....... Ive started shopping at Aldi & you can save money & still get quality plus Sainsburys are well ahead when it comes to customer service, when you get a reponse from Asda they often mess that up to, when it comes to food, customers & profit imo I think they only care about the profit!Theres only two rules to remember1) Im always right2) See rule 10
