has any one experienced this as i am panicking at the moment and halifax number is not open at the moment
i opened the halifax reward current account on sunday online (existing halifax customer) i transfered £500 into it, and was showing up ungtil last night (just wouldnt let me withdraw)
however signed in this morning, shows balence as 0 and states there are no transactions to show (as if the £500 has never been paid in or out, but it was showing yesterday and sunday) the account number has stayed the same, but getting worried as to where the money is.
its not showing in the account i used to fund it so money has not been sent back, nor the account i tried to withdraw £100 to

Their system is obviously screwed up at the moment.0 -
The is a common quirk in the first few days of a Halifax current account.
The funds and any transactions usually re-appear within 2 working days.
Don't lose sleep over it.0 -
Yes, I noticed an anomaly in another account a couple of days ago, so wasn't planning on having a bout of hysteria.0

thanks, i have just called them and they were next to useless. they have confirmed that the account is showing up as nil balence,
they dont know why or where the money has gone and is never showing as received (despite showing on line all day sunday and all day yesterday!) they cant see it received or sent back to origional sender.
they have advised i need to call back after 9am and they will call their account processing team and see if they know why! trouble is their processing team is only open monday-friday 9am to 5pm, and sods law i am in a course at work this week during those hours so wont have access to a computer or phone! great (plus have been told it will be a working lunch in the room provided so not sure i will even be able to try and call during lunch hours)
so looks like i will have to sit tight and wait for a couple days, hope you guys are right and that it will sort itself out automatically!!!! dont like the idea of £500 of my money in the abys!
they have advised on new accounts sometimes the initial payment does not show for a few days as goes into holding, however she stated doesnt explain why it showed up initially and then dissapeared!MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
It will reappear tomorrow.
It has happened to almost everyone who has opened one of these accounts.

There are many more.0 -
I have had £1000 disappear from my HICA account too, I tried transferring it yesterday teatime, the system timed out and I got a 'system temporarily out of order' message. I rang them and they said they knew about it and their technical team was looking into it, they hoped to have it back and running soon but they didn't know when. Just checked again this morning and the money's still missing, will have to ring them later on again. For anyone who needs a landline and not the 0845 number it's, 0113 380 9574.0

Better still, http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/callback.asp (that'll take you to new bank account applications, but in my experience they'll always transfer you).0 -
.....they have advised on new accounts sometimes the initial payment does not show for a few days as goes into holding, however she stated doesnt explain why it showed up initially and then dissapeared!
However, the two FP deposits are shown as 'Cash' - so clearly all is not fully rectified as far as the Halifax internet banking system is concerned.0 -
managed to get through to them on phone not that its done any good lol! still not showing as they have received it.
they have advised me that if it is not in there by friday i will need to go into branch and they will be able to look into for me, as they cant discuss or look into with me at the moment as they have to ask questions based on the account activity for security (deposits, standing orders etc)
because the account is new the security questions they need to ask are not possible in this instance so have to take a copy of 2 forms of id to prove to branch my identification so they can bypass the security questions to sort this!
though they have confirmed the account itself is fine and no need for id for that to be opened!! and it is fully open.
They claim the money may have gone into a holding account but cant explain why was showing before
I am more relaxed about this now seeing the other posts on here and the links given at least im not the only one who has had this and fingers crossed it will sort itself out!MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
