Need advice please on this 3 mobile contract!!

Hi everyone this is my first post. I dont know who else to ask and would appreciate any help with the following, I received a letter from 3 dated 02/10/2009 which said,
"Following a review of our internal accounting system, it would appear that a balance of £238.40 remains outstanding. The balance owingis in relation to an account you held with Three which was discontinued on 13/03/2008. It is possible that you may have not been contacted regardingthis outstanding balance for some time. This may be a result of previously failed attempts to contact you since the discontinued date or down to us recently locating you at a different address than that held at the point your account was discontinued."
Then is goes on to say that they want a reply within 20 days of the date of the letter or legal action will be taken, blah blah blah.
I can remember taking out the contract over 18 months in August 2006, but stopped using the phone (because it broke and I had no insuance) in July ish 2007 and never got a bill from them since June 2007, no communicaton whatsoever, I am still at the address I gave them when I took the contract out, so its not as if they haven't been able to find me. I would write to them but there is no address on the letter (surprise surprise) and I'm not gonna phone because I'm sure people know what ethinicity the person on the other end will be!
Any help will be greatly appreciated, take care for now and look forward to some replies

Are you looking forward to replies telling you to not be racist?

It is tough luck, you owe the money and you should pay up. I don't believe for a minute you haven't had any letters from them - but even if you haven't then this letter explains it.

That's quite doubtful that they wouldn't send you bills. They'd send them to try to get you pay, again not sending you letters to tell you that you owed money.

Also, yes you ARE being racist, so the best thing to do..phone them up and pay up. YOU took out the contract, YOU didn't replace the phone or let them know there were problems (as if it broke in July, it would be under warranty still) so it is YOUR responsibility
