Vodaphone Breach of Contract

hello i am a vodaphone customer using direct debit, Vodaphone had been taking money left right and centre off me but i always got it back after many phone calls, so i decided to send the phone back and got a reduced rate of £20 but have not used the sim card for 3/4 months,My Contract states DD to be taken on or after the 28th of each month, even though vodaphone siad is don't i no thats wot i set up, but in August they decided to take the money on the 27th, meaning i had no money in my account i do not have a overdraft set up so i was in debit for 24 hours,
Vodaphone states this is not a breach of contract also they are saying that my bill said on or after the 27th which i no it didn't, so my question is?
Do I have the right to cancel as taking the money earlier than i set up is a breach of contract.
Please Advise ASAP as they want there money

Cant see any breach of contract there - the vodafone bills I have do state clearly "On or aftter a certain date" and that date can be a little out each month (one month I might have 24th, another 25th). Just to do with billing cycles and weekend calculations etc.0

It would be a breach of direct debit guarantee, as the money is to be taken on or after the date. Check your agreement as it should state the day.
Its not a breach of the contract, so you cant cancel, but you should beable to recover any costs caused, charges, phonecalls, your time etc.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Actually it SHOULD have been taking out AFTER the 28th.
If the 28th fell on a public holiday or a weekend then it should have been the next working day. I don't think you can cancel your contract but you maybe able to get them to pay for any bank charges.0
