Calls (Mobiles) to Isle of Man & the Channel Islands
Hi
As I have been calling Moblies numbers in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man with my mobile, thinking that they will come out of my inclusive minutes; and I was really shocked when I received my bills. All the calls to mobile numbers in the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands are not included in the inclusive minutes.
Will be very grateful if somebody can advise which is the cheapest way to call mobile numbers in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. I have tried searches in the Call Checkers without any luck.
Thank you in advance.

Calling channel island MOBILES are charged at international rates for most UK providers. However calling channel island LANDLINES are charged as normal calls (and sometimes call inclusive) for most UK providers. Its really bizzare and a bit stupid, but that is the way it is.
So far have not found a cheap way for my friends and family to call me from the UK to my Jersey mobile. If anyone knows, would be useful."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
https://www.phonecheap.co.uk have a dial through access number 0844 439 00 03 which allows you to call UK Mobiles at 3p a minute. This number allows you to access Jersey 07797 Mobiles,i dont know about Guernsey and the Isle of Man,but its got to be worth a try.
If you are on O2 you can call this number from your inclusive cross network minutes.PF.0 -

Are you sure 0844 numbers are inclusive with o2, wasn't aware of that?
Also had a look at phonecheap (another finera company?) couldn't find anything about Jersey mobiles, is there a direct link?
Thanks for your help in finding phonecheap though."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
Phonecheap and other 0844 numbers reach Isle of Man numbers as well, probably because most foreign providers count these as UK numbers
I'd like to ask the OP which network you are on?0 -

Positive!!! about 0844.
Open this

Then go to link "O2 Online Pay Monthly terms & conditions"
Click the plus in front of it.
There it is.
9. Inclusive call minutes can be used to call some non-geographical and special services numbers with the following prefixes: 0800, 0808, 0844, 0845 and 0870. Once the inclusive minute allowance has been used up, calls to these numbers will be charged as calls to standard UK landlines at the prevailing tariff. Some exceptions may apply and calls to some numbers may be free of charge
Their is no mention of Jersey Mobiles on the phonecheap site they treat them the same as UK Mobiles.PF.0 -
PF cheers for that. I see the T&C's are for the online tariff. Will see if this applies to the offline tariffs as well (which is what family I know are on)."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

I have tried the phonecheap.co.uk access number with Jersey and isle of man, both came up trumps. Many thanks for your help and all the wonderful ideas you have posted.0

The thought occurs to me that providing Jersey.Guernsey, and Manx Telecom dont charge an arm and a leg to call UK 0844 Numbers.Phonecheap would be a cheaper way of calling Uk and other Islands Mobiles including own island ones!!!PF.0

I have a Isle of Man sim which I will use for European travel. My wife has a T Mobile with "free" minutes each month.
I have been searching in vain for a 07744 company which will allow calls from the T Mobile to the I.O.M mobile number.
Any solutions will be most welcome.
