Has anyone seen this part of the National Clamps website? http://www.national-clamps.com/index.php?section=ignoreopsion

I'm particularly concerned about the statement "In the meantime your registration number is recorded and should you enter any one of our sites in the meantime your vehicle will be towed and impounded until debt satisfaction."

I thought towing was only an option (and legal) if you were contravening any notices at the time, so what's the legality in towing out of spite because you haven't paid their "invoice" previously? If they do this at their sites, what's to stop them coming round your house and towing it off your street?

Oh goodness yes - this is drivel - I think it needs more prominence for wider comment.

Just had a quick look at that website, like their comment "We Care" obviously abbreviated from the full "we care f%ck all about you"

This caught my eye
Failure to pay after the 28 days will result in a County Court Summons and a subsequent appearance.

I assume therefore that this company have been successful in taking anyone who didn't pay within 28 days to court and then won the case. Or would I be wrong, surely they are not tryring to frighten people with that statement?

EDIT - they sound very very scary http://www.national-clamps.com/news.php?xr=29
Would love to go to their celebration mind you

Now this is interesting from that part of the site:- "No more patrolling your car parks, issuing FPNs or chasing lost causes "
So could this be an admission from them that enforcing an FPN is a "lost cause"???

I like this myself.....
Parking tickets and traffic wardens are highly effective in deterring traffic obstructions, thereby avoiding problems for emergency vehicle access, danger to pedestrians and considerable inconvenience for disabled pavement users.

emergency vehicly access to a car park? only unauthorised parkers pose a risk to pedestrians do they? what pavements they can't operate on public highways?

The National Clamps Fixed Penalty Notice service works like this:

1. The ticket issuer determines that a vehicle is an offender. The parking ticket is filled in and issued. At this point the ticket issuer contacts National Clamps headquarters to create a new entry on our web-based database....

Wouldn't it be just grand if several of them GOT CLAMPED while they had their little jamboree. It could delay the fireworks!

Anyone in the area? LOL

It may be interesting to track down their entry on the Data Protection Public Register.
