Cofunds have always been a bit lacking on support although they have improved in the last 6 months. Fidelity FNW seem to be making a lot of errors recently. Not just with myself but there have been complaints made in the financial press as well. Skandia tend to have excellent service and online admin (from both IFA and client). Selestia (where I have my own personal investments) are not the cheapest up front but there is no switching costs with them (ie. no bid/offer spread or initial charge). Although re-registration wouldnt incur any upfront costs anyway. However, you need an IFA to transact (or send in your own requests but not web based). Transact focus on large portfolios and can be beneficial with those. Service doesnt seem to be an issue.

Obviously, the regulars here will mention HL as a budget provider. Although I have no experience with them personally so cannot comment on their service.

For what it's worth, my unit trust portfolio has been with HL for years. Whenever I've switched, it's been simple and more or less immediate (within a few days). All other buy/sell transactions have been without hitch.

How much do HL charge on switches? There are fund supermarkets out there that have no charges at all on switches and they could be cheaper and better for the frequent switcher.
